Inspiration for the Spirit

A lovely place to wander for poetry and inspiration to soothe the soul

Laryalee FraserLaryalee Fraser (1940-2013) was a reporter, photographer, and poet. She was known to most of us in online writing circles as Lary through her popular website, Along Poetry Creek. A resident of British Columbia, Lary had turned to writing poetry following her husband's death in 2000. Writing was something she had enjoyed doing since childhood, and poetry was an important part of the healing process for her. Gardening, too, gave her a chance to connect with nature—and nature is a recurring theme in much of her writing. She wrote many traditional rhyming poems before moving on to other forms and styles. In 2002, she began composing haiku and haiga. Her exquisitely-crafted verses invoke stunning imagery and reveal an uncommon degree of insight into the human condition as well.

"Mother, grandmother, photographer, gardener, writer . . . struggling with unanswered questions of life!" —Laryalee Fraser, 2003
