Venice

VenicePalaces of pleasure stand like
Timeless birthday cakes parading,
Harlequins and histories
In February masquerading,
Gargoyles decorating ridges,
Narrow ways and shallow bridges,
Liquid lanes in constant flow,
Strokes of Michelangelo,
This perfect Adriatic blue,
A dream I long to share with you,
Of gondolas and string quartets,
Thoughts of love we’ve not had yet
A rose, a hand, a glance, a kiss,
Love in Venice, love is bliss.
