Anne Lamott is a mother, political activist, and writer. She is the author of several best-selling novels and works of non-fiction. Her column, Word by Word, in the online magazine Salon was voted “Best of the Web” by TIME magazine; and she is the subject of filmmaker Freida Lee Mock’s documentary, Bird by Bird with Annie. A past recipient of a Guggenheim Fellowship, Anne has taught at UC Davis and at writing conferences across the United States.
