For some people in my life
There are places in my heart;
They’ll always be reserved for them
And will be set apart

From temporary spaces filled
By people passing through;
I know they won’t be staying long,
They rarely ever do.

It’s a lesson to be learned;
I try not to ask the question why;
Just give them all a friendly wave
And watch them passing by.
